Drop in an hourly CSV export from a Refoss energy monitor and get the full picture — every circuit, every location, day-of-week patterns, and a daily sun & battery digest. Works with any wiring setup: split-phase with neutrals, hots-only, off-grid with a battery bank, or plain grid with no battery at all.
Your data never leaves this browser. The CSV is read on your device only — nothing is uploaded, sent, or stored on any server. Your labels and settings are remembered in this browser so a newer export drops straight into your existing charts.
Saved automatically in this browser, separately for each monitor (matched by its channel set). A grid-only site turns the battery off and every battery figure disappears; a hots-only monitor simply has no neutral references.
Roles are detected automatically: the channel that matches the sum of all the others is the total, consumption-dominant channels are neutral references (kept out of every chart), and each branch is matched to its closest neutral by hourly correlation. Rename circuits freely — the name after the channel code becomes its location group — and override any role that was detected wrong.
| Channel | Label (name · location) | Detected role | Use as | Lifetime kWh | % of total | Best neutral match |

Findings computed from your data — the always-on load, the biggest and fastest-growing circuits, your weekly rhythm, and anything that looks wrong. Anything the data can't support yet says so instead of guessing.
Every circuit’s total energy across the whole export, largest first. The total channel is marked and excluded from the percentage shares.
Each day distinctly, branches stacked — the stack sums exactly to the total overlay line.
Mean load by hour of day, branches stacked under the total.
Branch totals per month with the total overlaid.
All seven days overlaid — each day distinct, with its own average profile and its typical p10–p90 range — then the same profiles side by side on a shared scale.
Circuits aggregated by the location in their label, so every building or area gets its own totals. Locations come straight from your labels above.
The most recent period against the one before it, circuit by circuit — the fastest way to see what changed and by how much.
One circuit in detail: its lifetime total, daily trend, average day, and a date × hour heatmap of every hour in the export.
Sunrise and sunset are computed astronomically for your site. Day kWh is usage between sun-up and sun-down on the total channel; night kWh is the rest.
Refoss Energy Viz is free and runs entirely in your browser — your data is never uploaded. If it saved you time or money, consider supporting its development. Support goes directly to the developer personally — every contribution is a voluntary, non-tax-deductible gift.
Refoss Energy Viz runs entirely in your browser. Battery percentage is an estimate, not a meter reading: the export carries no state-of-charge column, so the bank is assumed full at sundown and the overnight drain is subtracted — days where the drain exceeds the bank are flagged in the digest. Settings are kept in this browser’s local storage, keyed to each monitor’s channel set; the exported settings file lets you move them to another browser or device.
